Lakes, series of sculptures based on bathymetric charts of land-bound lakes and of a memory of flying over Newfoundland; the pull between unknowability and omniscience, between awe and appetite.

The sculptures are approximately 270 x 100 x 170 cm in scale and assembled in such a way that the spectator has to manoeuvre him/herself through the numerous works. All works polymer-enforced plaster, resin, oil paint and timber. Bottom image: proposition for ceiling installation.
